What will I receive from you in my mix package? For each song mixed you will receive four versions. The full track mix, Instrumental mix, A cappella mix, TV / Performance mix (everything except the lead vocal)
-
How long will it take to complete my mix? This can depend on the amount of songs, how complex the mix is and also my current workload. For one song it will usually be 2 to 3 days but sometimes it could be 7 to 10 days if I have a backlog of work. I will always do my utmost to provide you with the shortest turnaround time possible. We will discuss the turnaround time before you book your mix package to make sure it suits your needs.

Why do you offer unlimited mix revisions? If you get the mix back and your happy with it straight away then that is great, but I understand that sometimes there will be things about the mix that will need to be altered and that is fine. Sometimes it might take 1 or 2 revisions and other times it may take take 6 or 7 or more until you are happy to sign the mix off as finished. Thats why I offer unlimited revisions up to the point that you are 100% happy to approve the mix. Once you do approve the mix, the mix package will be printed, the mix sessions backed up and the project will be completed.

I require my songs to mastered, can you do this?"Your mix package will have a "reference mix master" included, but please read the following. Many people offer to "Mix and Master" your songs but it is my opinion that mixing and mastering are differant skill sets and should be performed by people that have the expertise in either mixing or mastering. My skill set is in mixing, I do not claim to have the complete skill set of professional mastering engineer. That being said, I understand that sometimes you may not have the budget for a mastering engineer to master your songs. I will provide you with a "mastered reference mix" in your mix package. This reference mix will be as loud as commercially released songs. In fact, none of the songs in my work examples on this website have been mastered by a professonal mastering engineer, but have been mastered by myself for purpose of reference against commercial releases. I include this "mastered reference mix" in the mix package so those with no alternative can get their music out into the world within their budget.

How should I prepare my files before sending them to you?Export your tracks at the sample rate and bit depth they were recorded at. Sample rates of 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.1 kHz, 96 kHz, 176.4 kHz, 196 kHz and bit depth's of 16 bit, 24 bit and 32 bit are accepted. Consolidate all the files in your session. This is vital as it ensures all the tracks will line up correctly without any sync issues when I import them into my system for mixing. If you are not sure on how to do this then check out the manual for DAW. You can also search the web and YouTube for tutorials. If you need any further help with this, contact me and I'll help you through the process.
-
Should I export my tracks with effects on them?It is usually best to turn off plugins like EQ, compressors, limiters, reverbs and delays and I will add these when mixing the song. If you feel that these plugins are essential to the sound then export a wet and a dry version and send both to me. Any tracks using amp sims should be bounced down and exported with the amp sim sound burned in to the audio. You can also send the d.i. tracks, as these can be useful for re-amping. Any midi tracks using VSTi's should bounced to audio tracks.
-
Should I send a rough mix and reference tracks?Yes, feel free to send in a rough mix if you have one with your session files. We can discuss what you like or don't like about the rough mix as well as any other thoughts you may have about what the mix needs. Also feel free to send links to any reference tracks of your choosing and I'll be sure to make use of them. Whatever can be done to help acheive a great final result is welcome. If you don't have a rough mix or any reference tracks then don't worry, I will mix your music and we can go through the revision process if needed until you are completely happy with the mix.
-
What is the best way to send you my tracks?Simply upload Your Files to any files transfer site you prefer to use like WeTransfer, Dropbox or Google Drive and email the link to me.
-
What other services do you offer?Yes, I offer other services such as, editing, vocal tuning, re-amping, drum timing, etc. Please contact me to discuss anything you think I can help you with your productions.
-
What is your payment procedure / how much do I pay upfront? Before I start work on your music I ask for 50% of my fee upfront and when you are happy to sign off on the final mixes and we agree the project is complete the remiaining 50% can be paid. When I received the final 50% the completed mix package will be sent out to you.
